James, Erin, Tom and Kiersten travelled out together. Initially the purpose of the trip was to pack up the contents of the cottage so the restoration of the main building could begin. But no storage facility was secured. The best idea so far is to buy a cube van and park the cube van on private property to get a decent price on storage fees. No one has been able to find a storage van yet. We took the Volvo and trailer.
Right before everyone left a new composting toilet was purchased from Devon Alberta found on Kijiji. A lucky find as it was brand new and never used at a substantially reduced rate. You can find out all about it here
James also supplied three doors which which went in the back of the trailer as well. The doors were different sizes and two had frames. We ended up using two of the doors. One went on the outhouse on the point, the second went on the boat house.
We also found that the porch roof was leaking and after a quick inspection decided to buy shingles and underlay.

Shortly after we arrived we picked up Laurie’s canoe from Brian Cook. Cook Craft Canoe Co. is the name of the company.
